Philanthropist Job Evidence (Patricia and Daan):

For our job we both chose the ''Tab for Cause'' google application/plugin. This let's you vote for a charity you particularly care about. You have five choices: Human Rights, Water, Education, Health and Environment. Every time you reload your page or re-open your browser you get to donate another heart.

What does a heart mean and what does it do?

Hearts are the Tab for a Cause currency that one earns when opening tabs and referring it to friends. One can then donate your Hearts to the charities that you would like to support. After you've donated a certain amount of Hearts, you level up. When one donates a heart, it essentially means you're casting a vote for money to be given to that charity. At the end of each quarter, google takes all of the money raised through Tab for a Cause and then divide it amongst the charities baed on the number of hearts donated to each cause during the quarter.

Kiva is a non-profit organisation that lends money to people who are close to poverty. Kiva lets people lend at least $25 to help people who need money to pay for education, or to start up some type of business. Kiva is a great way for people to make a better living with the help of others across the world. Interested in donating some money yourself? See Mr. Neal for further information.

The two people I chose from Kiva are Juan Carlos and Leonardo Rodrigo, who both need help paying for education. Education is a very important factor of life and in many cases paying for it can be a difficulty, with a donation to Juan or Leonardo we could pay them a favour in which they will be thankful for.
